The Convergence Area Development Plan (CADP) for Royale and Mt. Inayawan-Illana clusters were launched on August 22, 2019 at the Mindanao Civic Center Hall, Tubod, Lanao del Norte (LDN).
A total of P79.4 million agricultural interventions were given to the two clusters in the said province. Of the said amount, P60.7 million is the Department of Agriculture’s (DA) commitment for the two clusters. It includes agricultural machinery and other agricultural assistance to the stakeholders.
The CADP for the two LDN clusters serves as the framework for the attainment of the common vision of responsible eco-tourism, sustainable agriculture, and balanced ecosystem.
The four-line agencies namely, DA, Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), and Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) contributed programs and projects which follow the Ridge-to-Reef or integrated ecosystem management-based approach interventions are focused on small farmers, fisherfolk, and marginal upland dwellers.
The investment plan poured in by the line agencies to the Mt. Inayawan-Illana Cluster reached Php 5-million and will serve the municipalities of Kapatagan, Nunungan, Sapad and Sultan Naga Dimaporo.
Meanwhile, the Royale Cluster has an investment plan of about Php1.1 million covering the towns of Balo-i, Linamon, Matungao, Pantar and Tagoloan.
For the part of DA RFO X, under the headship of OIC Regional Executive Director, Carlene C. Collado, the needs of the farmers will always be supported to open economic opportunities, boost farmers’ yield and income, and bring agricultural development in their areas.
The highlight of the activity was the ceremonial Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing, unveiling of the CADP area map and logo, distribution of assistance by the member agencies, and presentation of the PLGUs’ commitment at the provincial and municipal levels. Around 200 stakeholders attended the event which includes the barangay and municipal officials, Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), and representatives from the DA-DAR-DENR-DILG.
